CLASS GUIDELINES:
1. We will respect one another! Disruptive behavior and inappropriate or disrespectful comments to each other or the teacher will not be tolerated.
2. Students will be marked tardy if they are not in the classroom when the bell rings.
3. Students will remain seated until dismissed by the teacher.
4. Every day bring appropriate classroom materials - science notebook, planner,pen/pencil and a calculator. Calculators may NOT be shared during a quiz or test and are NOT provided by the teacher.
5. Only classroom materials will be on top of your desk. Purses,backpacks, etc. will remain on the floor until you are dismissed.
6. There will be no eating or drinking in the classroom.
7.All discipline problems will be dealt with as stated according to the Port Huron High School Uniform Discipline Policy, which is posted in this classroom.
8. Work missed while absent (must be excused) must be made up in the same number of days missed in order to receive full credit. If you miss the day before a test you will not receive the extra credit and you must take the test when you return to school.
9. Late work assignments (other than excused absence) will be penalized.
10. All late work (excused or unexcused) must have a fully completed late slip attached before turning it in. All late work is directly handed to me.
11. No late work will be accepted after the chapter test is taken.
12. Doing work for another class without prior approval is not acceptable during our science class. It will be taken away and it will Not be returned. This also goes for any books,magazines, personal notes,etc.
13. Homework and daily work is worth 10% of your grade.
Notebooks and classroom participation is worth 10% of your grade.
Quizzes are worth 20% of your grade.
Tests are worth 60% of your grade.
14. Grading Structure
100-93% = A 82-80% = B- 69-67% = D+
92-90% = A- 79-77% = C+ 66-63% = D
89-87% = B+ 76-73% = C 62-60% = D-
86-83% = B 72-70% = C- 59% and below = E
15. Semester Grades
Each marking period grade will be worth 30% of the semester grade. Your final exam is worth 10% of the semester grade.
